How to Apply!
When you're ready for the next step...
The rental office will give you an application to fill out when you leave a risk-free holding deposit (usually $100, plus $15 for each additional applicant) to hold an apartment. If you're not moving for some time and would like to get on our waiting list for the future, please see 'open deposits' info below. When you leave a deposit to hold an apartment, we give you 48-hours to change your mind (before forfeting the holding deposit), and we can hold an apartment vacant a maximum of 14 days before you'll need to move-in. Please contact the office for our full application rental criteria.
If you are out of town and and would like to mail us a deposit, first please check with the office in regards to our current availability, or the length of the waiting list for the month you'll be moving. Once we give you 'the green light', then you may send in your application with your holding deposit...

It's in adobe .pdf format, you'll need to have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your computer to be able to open the file.
To hold an apartment, please mail your competed application with your holding deposit. Make sure you write your contact phone number correctly (so we can call you when we recieve it). Each line of the application should be carefully read & filled in, and don't forget to sign the bottom under 'applicant'. Since there is usually a wating list, we hold apartments on a first come/first-to-leave-a-deposit basis, so please mail your application and deposit in a very timely manner.
The holding deposit amount is based on number of applicants. Please see our Prices & Deposits page. For example, for two adults the holding deposit would be $25 for the 1st applicant, $15 for the second and the $75 deposit = $115 to hold and apartment. The $75 holding deposit converts into the non-refundable deposit after 48-hours (again, please see our Prices & Deposits page) if you are holding an actual apartment number (please note that this process differs from our open deposit process below). The rental office currently only accepts checks or money orders (no cash) made out to La Entrada Apartments...

The other deposit(s), (the $150 refundable deposit and any pet deposits) are paid on your move-in day with your 1st months rent. The 1st months rent is pro-rated based on the day you move-in (for example, if you move in 1/2 way through a month, you don't pay for the days you weren't here). Remeber, we can only hold an apartment vacant for you a total of 14-days, or up to two weeks, however if someone is moving out at the end of the month that you leave a deposit, that two-week period starts from the date that apartment becomes vacant. Please contact the office for further details regarding this process.
What's an Open Deposit?
Leaving us an 'open deposit' is a way for future residents to be in line for a certain type of apartment, to move-in at some point in the future (such as a business person that knows they will be moving to Tucson in October, and it's only June, for example). The process is the same as above, except since we don't know the apartment number yet (we'll usually know the apartment numbers thirty days before hand), you're 'getting in line' (in strict order) based on the date we recive your open deposit. We're 'pre-leasing' expected move-outs now, for in the future. The 48-hour process we mentioned above doesn't start until we assign you an actual apartment number. The whole process is risk free, if we're unable to find someone an apartment (or they cancell for any reason before being assigned an apartment number), the open deposit is refundable.
We do not process applications until we assign an apartment number (there's really no reason). As we start to get close to the date you wanted to move, our current residents begin to turn in their required 30-days notice to vacate notices. As those come in, we start calling and assigning apartment numbers to the people in our open deposit list in strict order (by the date the open deposit was left). When we call you to come down (if possible) and look at the location, you can either 'pick or pass' that apartment number to the next person in line. Once you pick an actual unit number, you then have 48-hours from that point to change your mind with a full refund of your open deposit. If everythings a go, we'll then finally begin to process your application at that point. There is no reason to charge you for an application fee and run your credit if in the end you never got an apartment.
Apartments are offered to people in our open deposit list before the general public even knows that an apartment even became available. With our open deposit system, we give people that have decided to move to our community (at some point in the future) an opportunity to be 'first, second, third', etc. in line for the perfect apartment at the perfect time they needed... which sometimes is the only way to get into our community, due to popular demand.
P.S...
Even though I've tried to best explin everything above in detail, the whole process can still seem confusing. Please don't hesitate to give us a call so my staff or I can help to walk you though the process of leaving a deposit, answering any other questions you may have, and helping you with your move...
That's what we're here for!
